Opening the evening of Thursday April 10th in the Community Room as part of Garfield Park Conservatory’s Centennial Celebration, “Conserve-A-Story” will unveil some of the untold stories of the surrounding area through the eyes of those who have lived here. This exhibit is a collaborative community project in which residents showcase neighborhood history through a collection of narratives and portraits. Stories are being told using autobiographical objects, audio interviews, photographs and recipes. A story donation booth and an audio-recording story booth will be available on site for anyone interested in adding their own history. For more information please contact facilitating artist, Rachel Moore, at 773-252-5618 or rmoore@saic.edu. *Please note: Because the Community Room is often rented to outside organizations, please contact the front desk of the Conservatory at 312-746-5100 before your visit to make sure the exhibit will be open to the public while you are here.
