The Kansas City Science Fiction and Fantasy Society is a club for fans of science fiction, fantasy and horror. The club's main focus is on Science Fiction and Fantasy in all its many forms. There are many members who share an interest in SF & F literature (novels, short stories & magazines) SF & F art, the media (films and TV), games and other areas of the science fiction and fantasy genre (SF/F). KaCSFFS (pronounced "kax-fuss") was founded in July 1971 and has been meeting monthly ever since.
What We Do
Kaxfen at the Writers PlaceOur group has a variety of official and unofficial things we do. We have the official monthly meetings that normally take place on the third Saturday of the month. There is a monthly book discussion group that takes place at a Borders bookstore that has our members as well as anyone else who is interested in discussing science fiction and fantasy books in attendance. Our outings to see movies in the theatre have been nick-named the Film Cadets while the get togethers to view films on DVD in a home theater environment has earned the name The Laser Rangers. And our semi-organized outings to restaurants for dinner attracts the Fanivores.
