“Women in Sports” Celebration to Feature More Than 40 Female Athletes in Star-Studded Walk of Fame
The Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame (CWHF) will induct three extraordinary women athletes at its 14th Annual Gala and Induction Ceremony. Olympic figure skating gold medalist Dorothy Hamill, legendary softball champion Joan Joyce, and golfing great Glenna Collett Vare will each be honored by CWHF for their unique and significant contributions to women’s sports. The event will also celebrate the 35th anniversary of Title IX with L’Oréal Paris leading a distinguished list of corporate sponsors for an inspiring evening which promises to be the largest gathering of female athletes Connecticut has ever seen. Prior to the event, ING will host a cocktail reception and ESPN will sponsor CWHF’s inaugural “Walk of Fame,” boasting a star-studded line-up of more than 40 outstanding women athletes (for a full list of Walk of Fame participants, please visit www.cwhf.org).
