UDAAN for the Disabled extends a warm welcome to all Doctors, Therapists, Parents of Affected Children, Concerned Persons
as well as The Distinguished Members of the Press and Media to attend the conference and Interact with Our panel of International and National Experts.

More than 1 in 150 children born today face the risk of developing some form of brain damage that slows down their mental development and physical abilities.

Unfortunately, the prevailing myth in most medical and therapy circles is that brain once damaged is damaged for life. This is not quite true today.

Today, advancements in the Western medical world have shown that if detected and intervened early, preferably within the first 4 years of life, significant recovery of damaged brain is possible in many such brain-disabled children.

UDAAN for the Disabled, a center at Delhi, has been especially active in the field of brain damage reversal work among disabled children since 1992.

UDAAN has pioneered in 2001; the use of HBOT in children with CP, and have now started the medical management of ASD. The proactive work being done by UDAAN on CP is well known in International circles.

UDAAN is organising an awareness meet and conference on the 'Possibilities of Partial Brain Damage Repair in India' called the UDAAN - Neural Repair & Neuro Rehabilitation Conference (NR2CON).

It is being held at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, from the 15th to 17th of September. Six of the world’s foremost authorities on brain repair will be joined by about 20 of India’s best in the field.
Acquired brain damage manifests as defective body control with or without mental retardation, called Cerebral Palsy or CP. Others get mental retardation caused by genetic faults, as in Down Syndrome and most causes of mental retardation.

The biggest worry today is a combination of genetic faults, acquired and environmental factors, showing up as children with Attention Deficit, Hyperactivity Disorder, Dyslexia, or children showing uncalled for tantrums, extreme social withdrawal, loss of acquired skills and communication ability, etc.. A rarity a generation ago, we see more than one such child today: these are the children we call Autism Spectrum Disorder or ASD.

CP and ASD share a common pathology in brain: swelling, inflammation and reduced blood circulation in affected areas. These common problems may be significantly reduced by Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy or HBOT, an old treatment methodology for adults, now being increasingly introduced for children as well.

ASD children derive significant benefit with the help of avoidance of the offending chemicals and foods, removal of already absorbed chemicals, giving specially designed nutrition including specific vitamins and minerals, removal of gut infections at regular intervals, and recovering existing brain damage using HBOT
