A one-day conference on the design, materials and societal implications of Rapid Manufacturing (RM) – the name used to describe a range of new processes that make things by addition directly from digital data. RM requires no expensive and time-consuming tooling stage. The technology is in its infancy, but is developing fast and being adopted by industry. This conference will make a critical and provocative examination of a revolutionary technology, with leading speakers from research, design, business and economics.
