Join The Shamrock Bar and The Business Alliance as we enjoy “Summer Nights in Vienna” by the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra (WCO), featuring the Madison Ballet. From the Shamrock, you can purchase a “Picnic Package,” or buy a la carte a Panini (portabella or prosciutto), a fresh summer salad, and/or bottles of wine to take up to the Capitol Square, where we can socialize and picnic together and enjoy an evening of music and dance. We look forward to you joining us.

The Concerts on the Square performance begin at 7 p.m. The Business Alliance will put down blankets after 3 p.m., on the Shamrock Bar side of the Capitol square (Main and Carroll). The Shamrock Bar will sell food and drink for the Concerts on the Square from 3 to 8 p.m.

The Shamrock Bar exemplifies the Madison tradition of welcoming acceptance, located near the famous Wisconsin Capitol Square. At the Shamrock Bar, everyone is welcome.

"Twirling in long white ball gowns and elegant tuxedos, professional dancers from the Madison Ballet will join the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra (WCO) at Concerts on the Square for the first time this summer. Ballet artistic director W. Earle Smith is choreographing dances for four couples to perform on at least three and possibly four pieces (most of the program will be waltzes by Johann Strauss II). The WCO will erect four stages for the dancers: one in front of the orchestra, one on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, one at King Street and a fourth at East Washington Avenue."

“The music outdoors is just going to be spectacular,” said W. Earle Smith. “It’s a great opportunity for Madison Ballet to be in front of a huge audience. And hopefully there will be a number of people who watch it and go, ‘Wow, I enjoyed this. Let’s see what they’re all about.’” (Interview and details courtesy of Lindsay Christians, The Capital Times.)
