ANDRÉ MOTA / DRUMS VERY SHORT BIO: Born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1986. Studied at the Musicentro music school with Zé Moreira at the age of 14. Joined the Hot Clube de Portugal jazz school in 2003, studying there with Bruno Pedroso, Henry Sousa, André Fernandes, Nelson Cascais, Afonso Pais, Filipe Melo, Bruno Santos, and others. Studied also outside school with wonderful musicians such as Alexandre Frazão, Michael Lauren, Jim Black, Carlos Bica, Frank Mobus, and others. Played already in jazz/experimental ensembles with Alípio C. Neto, Gil Conçalves, Eduardo Lála, João C. Pinto, Ernesto Rodrigues, Nathan Fuhr’s Demonshaker, and others. In May 2008 his quartet (feat. Jorge Reis, Bruno Pernadas and Paulo Luz) made its debut concert at the "Maio Lindo Maio" Portimão Jazz Festival.
