WHAT: Concertante

Mill Valley Chamber Music Society presents Concertante. This string ensemble performs a wide array of repertoire, ranging from works by established masters to less commonly performed composers.

Concertante artists of the 2011-2012 season are cellists Alexis Pia Gerlach and Zvi Plesser; violinists Dov Scheindlin and Lisa Shihoten; clarinetist Christopher Grymes; pianist Gilles Vonsattel; and violists Shmuel Katz and Xiao-Dong Wang.

The Nov. 13 concert program includes Capriccio, Op. 85 (Richard Strauss); Verklärte Nacht (Transfigured Night) for string sextet, Op. 4 (Arnold Schoenberg); and String Sextet in B Flat Major, op. 18 (Brahms).
