Accessible Contemporary Music presents an evening of music and dance at the Irish American Heritage Center, 4626 N. Knox, Chicago, IL, on Friday, December 14th.
The evening begins at 7:00 PM with New Traditions, a concert in the Performing Arts Theater on the third floor featuring Irish traditional music arranged by Classical composers.
Beethoven’s seldom-heard Irish Songs will be performed along with Irish folk song settings by John Corigliano and Thomas Moore. This concert will also feature a World Premiere performance by Chicago composer Seth Boustead.
At 8:30 PM the evening continues in the Fifth Province pub on the first floor with Happy Hour, featuring performances by the renowned Trinity Irish Dance Academy and the Irish Music Academy and a silent auction for prizes featuring donations from Orbitz, the Old Town School of Folk Music, the Music Institute, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, H & R Block, and others. Food will be served and a cash bar will be available.
Admission for the evening is $40 or tickets for the two events can be bought separately for $25 each. Tickets are available by calling 773-334-3650 or online at www.acmusic.org. The venue has free parking and the Montrose Blue line stop is within easy walking distance.
