Concert for Deb Flanagan: An Awareness Benefit for "ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease)"

LIVE WEBCAST AND PERFORMANCES FOR DEB FLANAGAN - a FUND RAISER for our friend, and AWARENESS for Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS) , Saturday April 18, Venice California, at the Talking Stick Cafe. Performers include Aussie wunderkind gilli moon, www.gillimoon.com, Alaska's "clever folk funk artist", Marian Call, www.mariancall.com, and the ethereal electroacoustic vibes of Santa Fe's Coco O'Connor, www.cocooconnor.com. Thanks also to Vital Life Foundation and New Media Interchange for their support in presenting the live webcast and Deb's comfort from her hospital room to watch the event.

Behind the Benefit

Artist gilli moon and promoter Toni Koch have held a 6 year friendship with a wonderful human being, Deb Flanagan. Deb has been an active music enthusiast, promoter and business owner, based out of Austin Texas, for many years. She has given SO much to gilli
moon's artistry and her label Warrior Girl Music over the years, and both gilli and Toni were saddened to hear that Deb had been diagnosed with ALS, known as "Lou Gehrig's Disease",
which has turned a vibrant, active woman into someone who has lost many abilities of her body and degenerating every day. Although Deb's laughter and smiles have not stopped, she is now being cared for at Marquis Care with support of the Vital Life Foundation AND we
have decided to create a a Benefit Fundraiser to assist Deb's medical costs (she is only partially funded for health care). This event is to create some funds for Deb's wellness assistance, and hopefully be ongoing through paypal donations. It is also an event to make Deb smile. What Is Lou Gehrig's Disease?
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease," is a progressive neurodegenerative
disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and
from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS
eventually leads to their death.
