This celebration is part of a 10-concert piano sonata series sponsored by the Ralph M. Parsons Foundation and presented concurrently with the Haydn tribute of the New England Conservatory. The Austrian composer (1732—1809) is recognized as a dominant force in the development of the musical style of the classical era.
The program on the actual day of Haydn’s demise includes two piano sonatas in G Major, Hoboken XVI:39, and C Major, Hoboken XVI:50 performed by pianist Bruce Brubaker, with live electronic sounds by Laura Karpman and Nora Kroll-Rosenbaum.
Sundays Live presents weekly classical chamber music concerts and recitals by premier professional artists from Southern California and around the world.
