Computer Classes November 15, 2008

Please register in person at the Circulation Desk. Registration begins at 9:30am on Friday, October 31. There is a non-refundable $5.00 charge per class payable in cash at the time of registration. All classes run for 1 1/2 - 2 hours and will be presented in the Third Level Computer Lab.

No prior knowledge required.

• Basic Computer Skills •
Practice the keyboard and mouse, turn the computer off and on, start and end programs and more.

Tailored to the new user, this program covers the basics of the Internet.

**Participants registering for the following classes should have completed the Basic Skills class or have an equivalent skill level:

• Microsoft Excel •
Using a tutorial, students will create a budget; learning how to
enter data, apply mathematical formulas and formatting.
Wednesday, December 3 10:00am

• Microsoft Word •
Learn the basics of word processing using Microsoft Word. Students will enter data, do basic formatting and copy and paste.

• Microsoft PowerPoint •
Learn to create slides, add text, pictures, color and design, add transitions and set timings.

• E-mail Basics •
Learn about e-mail, how to obtain an account, send and receive messages and attach files.

• Google: Beyond the Basics •
Learn to turbo-charge your Internet experience with this popular search engine! This class is a fun, fast-paced look at the newest and niftiest features of Internet searching.
