The former Katy Rehabilitation Hospital is celebrating its joining with Memorial Hermann Healthcare System to become the new Memorial Hermann Rehabilitation Hospital – Katy.
Since opening its doors in 2006, the former Katy Rehabilitation Hospital has provided rehabilitation services for individuals who have suffered a loss of functioning or impairment due to conditions such as stroke, brain injury, orthopedic injury, amputation, arthritis and spinal cord. The Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital combines the benefits of physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, along with social services and nursing for a multi-disciplinary approach.
“With this new partnership, we can now offer patients access to the technology and innovation of the entire Memorial Hermann Healthcare System,” says Jenny Maxwell, the Executive Director for Memorial Hermann Rehabilitation Hospital-Katy. “We look forward to working with our colleagues at other Memorial Hermann facilities to serve patients in the community.”
Under the new partnership Jenny Maxwell will report to Paul Sullivan, COO of Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital. The operations of the hospital will be governed by a team of physicians and executive leadership from Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital and Memorial Hermann Healthcare Systems Services.
“The addition of this facility to the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System underscores our commitment to offering area residents increased convenience in receiving quality rehabilitation and related services close to home,” says Paul O’Sullivan, COO, Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital. CEO of Memorial Hermann Katy concurs. “I am very excited to have Katy Rehabilitation Hospital become a part of the Memorial Hermann family,” said Scott Barbe, the Chief Executive Officer for Memorial Hermann Katy. “This partnership is another step in Memorial Hermann’s journey to respond to present – and future – patient care needs in the communities we serve.”
In addition to Inpatient Rehabilitation, the hospital also provides both physical and occupational therapy through the Outpatient Therapy Clinic. The facility also houses a Diagnostic Imaging Center and an outpatient Wound Care Center with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. To learn more, please call 281.579.5555 or visit memorialhermann.org
