Popular "Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Late Show with David Letterman" frequent guest comic Dennis Regan headlines the New Year comedy kick-off show at the Firehouse Arts Center in Pleasanton. Opening for Regan is Vallejo native and Bay Area favorite G. King.
Dennis Regan (www.dennisregan.com) is known for his quick wit and brilliantly funny insights into the world around him. He is one of the few elite comics who have had multiple appearances on both the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the Late Show with David Letterman. Dennis has also been on Showtime and Comedy Central, and has toured nationally for many years headlining large theater venues and most of the major comedy clubs in the country.
In addition to opening for Ray Romano and other top comics, Regan works behind the scenes as well, writing comedy for other headliners. He has also worked as a television writer, notably on the CBS sitcom The King of Queens for four seasons.
Hailing from Miami and New York City, Dennis says he "swapped the harsh sunshine of south Florida...for the darker recesses of comedy clubs, and found my calling." (From an interview on www.comedyland.net)
Opener and Vallejo native G. King performs regularly at comedy clubs and other venues throughout the Bay Area as well as nationally, and has opened for top national comedians including Charlie Murphy, Tony Roberts, and Damon Wayans. King states that his inspirations include Mike Epps, Chris Rock, and Bernie Mac, to name a few.
After getting a business degree and working for UPS for a number of years, G. King knew that traditional business wasn't his calling and decided to dedicate his life to becoming a comedian. His fans say he has a way of captivating his audiences with his experiences and views on life. G. King is a must-see comedian and a rising star in the making.
