Comedy @ Firehouse Presents Kat Simmons with Dave Mencarelli November 14, 2012

International comedy circuit veteran Kat Simmons (www.katsimmons.com) brings her show to the Firehouse Arts Center. Simmons is one of the few physical comediennes working today, and has been favorably compared to the masters of the craft Lucille Ball, Carol Burnett, and Red Skelton. Kat is known for her honest, clean brand of humor, sharing with audiences as if they are all longtime friends.

Simmons has appeared with Tim Allen, Kenny Rogers, Diane Ford, and a host of others in her 25 year comedy career. She produces a variety of regional and national shows, and appears on Comedy Central, FOX TV's Comedy Tonight, Candid Camera, and stars in the popular national comedy hit, The 3 Blonde Moms.

In addition to a packed touring schedule, Kat Simmons also teaches comedy workshops emphasizing empowerment through humor. She says laughter "changes your chemistry, lowers your blood pressure, builds your immune system and is like internal jogging."
Opening act and award-winning comic Dave Mencarelli's general anxiety, low self esteem, and mild narcissism keep him in demand at The Improv, Laughs Unlimited, Harrah's, and Catch a Rising Star to name a few of the many venues he plays. He is a self-professed veteran of morning radio, late night TV and traffic school, who takes the audience on a twisted journey through the process of his mom and dad's unconventional parenting techniques along with his own adventures raising kids. He might also venture to his family's home in Arkansas where graduating from the sixth grade is considered an accomplishment, or discuss some of things that get under his skin, such as political correctness and job applicants. Dave has been called "acerbic, smart, and of average height...but one thing's for sure: he's bald."
