UNM's Center for the Southwest presents “Come and Take It Day” (2001, directed by Jim Mendiola) uses Texas history to tell a story of friendship, envy, betrayal, and greed. The film will begin with a short introduction by MELINA V. VIZCAINO, a doctoral candidate in the Department of American Studies at the University of New Mexico. She teaches classes in Chicana/o Studies and Southwest Studies and is currently teaching a Chicano/a Film class.
