Columbia College Chicago presents The Wild Party by John LaChiusa and George C. Wolfe.
This Roaring Twenties musical was adapted from the banned 1928 epic poem written by Joseph Moncure March. Two former lovers, Queenie and Burrs, a vaudeville dancer and a vaudeville clown, throw a decadent party with all the right guests.
As their tumultuous relationship unravels, the evening spirals into jealously, passion and violence. Sex, sin, and bathtub gin, all add to the mix in this musical that showcases characters living on the fringe in the Jazz-age.
This production is directed by Tom Mula. The cast list includes Natalia A. Formisano as Queenie; Harter Clingman as Burrs; Alex Newkirk as Black; Liz Hamsher as Kate; Jayme Wojciechowski as Jackie; Nelson Green as Phil; TJ Crawford as Oscar; Barry Irving as Eddie; Kate Gerston as Mae; Justine Klein as Nadine; Reeny Hofrichter as Madelaine; Rebecca Bradford as Sally; Victor Souffrant as Gold; Elliot Burton as Goldberg; and Sasha Smith as Dolores.
