The "Upstairs at The Greenwich" art gallery hosts an opening reception for the exhibit "Colored Thoughts" by local visual artist(and Cincinnati Public school educator) Marcus Fletcher.
Artist Statement:
The geometric abstractions in this exhibition are from memories of childhood drawings ...and the work of Tarrence Corbin. These works are a tribute to the man that helped strengthen my belief in my work and myself. The movement in my work is inspired by his enormous geometric compositions. I’m honored to exhibit these pieces because it coincides with the exhibition of work by Kevin Cole, (another artist/educator influenced by Tarrence) at the Weston Gallery. Tarrence once told me, “Stay true to your art and it’ll never leave you. And… it’ll help you get through anything in your life.”
I didn’t realize then that these words would echo within me for years to come.
The exhibit will be on display through Saturday, January 12th.
Gallery hours Monday -Thursday 7 -10 pm, Friday & Saturday 7 pm – 12 am. Sunday by appointment.
