An evening of bluegrass and fun features Dr. Ralph Stanley & The Clinch Mountain Boys. Stanley, who was made famous for his unique style of banjo playing, now known as “Stanley style,” was awarded the National Medal of Arts, the nation’s highest honor for artistic excellence. In 2001, Stanley appeared on the soundtrack to the Coen brothers’ film “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” His a cappella reading of the haunting “O Death” in the film earned him a Grammy and helped turn the mainstream public on to bluegrass music.
