WALKING WOUNDED:
Hawthorn’s Brent Guerra is almost certain to miss the finals series after tearing his left hamstring, with either Xavier Ellis, Kyle Cheney or Shane Savage expected to take the defender’s place. Stephen Gilham has been ruled out to face Collingwood with a quadriceps injury, though the Hawks expect Jack Gunston, who was substituted out with a rolled ankle against West Coast last weekend, to train all week and play.

Collingwood trio Nick Maxwell, Tyson Goldsack and Jarryd Blair are in varying degrees of doubt for the qualifying final. Maxwell pulled up sore against Essendon last weekend but appears the most likely to play, while Goldsack remains hopeful despite being substituted out with an ankle sprain. Blair missed the Bombers clash with groin soreness, though the Magpies are confident he will be available for selection.

Collingwood clinched fourth spot with a 16-6 record. Nathan Buckley’s men have dropped two of their past three games, but boast an impressive record of five wins and a draw (in the 2010 grand final) from their past seven finals outings.

WHO’S HOT:
Andrew Krakouer – The livewire moved freely in his return against Essendon, collecting 11 disposals and a goal in his first AFL game since undergoing a knee reconstruction six months ago. Krakouer adds an unknown element to the Magpies forward line and could prove a handful for the Hawks without Guerra.

Lance Franklin – The superstar was outstanding against West Coast with four goals in a dominant display. Franklin, who booted five majors against Collingwood in Round 1 but missed the Round 17 fixture with a hamstring injury, is clearly the man the Magpies have to stop to have a fighting chance of victory.
