Join us as we present poets Collin Kelley and Cecilia Woloch, reading from and signing their new books, After the Poison and Narcissus.
Atlanta native Collin Kelley is an award-winning poet, playwright, and journalist. He is the author of After the Poison, Slow To Burn, Better To Travel, and a spoken word album, HalfLife Crisis. He is the recipient of a Georgia Author of the Year Award and a nominee for the Kate Tufts Discovery Award, Lambda Literary Award, and the Pushcart Prize. Kelleys poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in several publications. He is also co-editor of the award-winning Java Monkey Speaks Anthology series from Poetry Atlanta Press. Cecilia Woloch's books of poems include Sacrifice, a BookSense 76 selection in 2001; Tsigan: The Gypsy Poem; and Late for which she was named Georgia Author of the Year in Poetry in 2004. Her recently released chapbook, Narcissus, won the Tupelo Press Snowbound Competition. Through prose poems in the form of "postcards" and free verse, Cecilia gives us a stunningly honest peek into relationships, at once acutely intimate and unabashedly compassionate. She "speaks" with a vivid poetic voice that Billy Collins has praised as "intense and precise."
