CollegeAmerica will be an event sponsor for both the Chuckwagon Cookoff and the Chutes Tours at the 2011 Cheyenne Frontier Days. This is the second year the college will be an event sponsor for the world’s largest outdoor rodeo and western celebration. Additionally, CollegeAmerica will host a booth at Frontier Days for prospective students interested in earning a degree in business, information technology, graphic arts, or healthcare.

In addition to hosting a booth, CollegeAmerica will sponsor the Chutes Tours and Chuckwagon Cookoff.

The Chutes Tours provide a first-hand look at the inner workings of a rodeo. The tours are held multiple times a day throughout the eight-day event. The tours follow the path of the bulls and horses as the animals are rounded up and threaded through the maze of gates, on their way to the chutes and out into the arena with cowboy in tow. The tour ends with guests stepping into the chutes and walking across the arena. Tours begin in front of the Old West Museum by the “No Looking Back” bronze statue.

The Chuckwagon Cookoff begins on July 27 and provides an authentic chuckwagon experience. Chuckwagon crews provide a glimpse into life on the Goodnight Trail, which ran from Texas to Wyoming in the mid-1800s. Cooking demonstrations will take place throughout Frontier Days, culminating in the Championship Cookoff on July 27. The Chuckwagon Cookoff will be located between the Indian Village and Wild Horse Gulch.
