Missed communication, outdated versions, lost files, scheduling nightmares, complicated file access for clients and vendors, disappearing institutional knowledge, and software that doesn't play well together-it's a wonder teams can get anything done.
Fortunately, tools such as Basecamp, SharePoint, and Clearspace can provide robust group communications and easy access to project assets to team members from almost anywhere. In addition, specialized applications focus on document management, software development support and web-based meeting environments. These tools can streamline work for teams of all sizes, whether centralized or spread out over multiple cities, companies, time zones and languages.
Communication is at the heart of collaboration and our speakers will show you what to look for in tools that make this easier. After dinner and networking we'll go through a brief overview of why we need solutions so desperately and why implementing them can be so daunting. Then, we'll look at some specific tools that highlight different aspects of the collaboration space, such as Software as a Service and self-hosted solutions, quick or complex set-up, pure web-based solutions, desktop/server/Internet hybrids, and focus on project management or document management.
We'll wrap up the event with a Q & A with the panel of experts. Extensive resource lists will also be made available to attendees, including a list of free options for smaller teams.
