Brave the COLD WEATHER to compete against your fellow man (or woman) and prove how much smarter you are than he (or she). But it's not just a clever name! This scavenger hunt will be promoting the new independent film Cold Weather as well as taking place (in all likelihood) in cold weather.

ABOUT THE MOVIE
Cold Weather is a charming comic mystery from indie director, and former New Yorker, Aaron Katz. Premiering at the IFC Center the day before the Hunt, the movie is about a self-styled Sherlock Holmes who leads an unlikely team of irregulars on an unexpected, but thoroughly enjoyable adventure. ABOUT THE HUNT
Join us for an afternoon of cracking codes, solving riddles, and exploring the hidden side of New York as you compete with other amateur forensic scientists to score the most points and save yourself from the couch-ridden boredom of your average winter weekend.

Then warm up after the hunt at a Happy Hour where you can relax and meet all those faceless foes you outwitted during the event.

MORE ABOUT THE MOVIE
After abandoning a promising academic career in forensic science, aimless Doug (Cris Lankenau) returns to Portland to live with his more responsible big sister Gail (Trieste Kelly). He easily lands a dead-end job working in an ice factory, but his latent passion for detective work is stoked when his ex-girlfriend, Rachel (Robyn Rikoon) goes missing.

Armed with a handful of arcane clues and a vast knowledge of the world of Sherlock Holmes, Doug enlists Gail and co-worker Carlos (Raúl Castillo) in a ramshackle investigation that draws the slacker sleuths into Portland's underground. What they discover is a complex trail of clues, leading them increasingly close to the discovering the mysterious truth about Rachel.
