Featuring faculty soloist Ronald Leonard
Ronald Leonard has been acclaimed as one of America's finest cello soloists, chamber musicians and teachers. He has been a member of the Cleveland Orchestra and was the principal cellist of the Rochester Philharmonic; he was principal cellist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic for 24 years. He has performed concertos with many renowned conductors, including Zubin Mehta, Michael Tilson Thomas, Andre Previn, Simon Rattle, Carlo Maria Giulini, Valery Gergiev and Esa-Pekka Salonen. Leonard has been a member of the Hartwell, Eastman and Vermeer Quartets and has been a guest performer with the Juilliard, American, Guarneri, Chillingarian, Borromeo, Manhattan and Mendelssohn quartets.
Mr. Leonard performs on a cello made by Pietro Guarnerius of Mantua.
