100 North Blvd
Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70801

Sponsored by the Louisiana Bicentennial Commission, this exhibit includes rare and beautiful coins and currency. Before the U.S. standardized currency, cities and banks had their own currency with ornate artwork. The exhibit also focuses on why New Orleans was chosen as one of only four federal mints when it opened in 1838.
