Coeur de Pirate (French for pirate heart) is the stage name for French-Canadian chanteuse Béatrice Martin. Her whimsical, magical pop songs blend cabaret music, French lyrics and playful indie sensibilities. Coeur de Pirate’s acclaimed eponymous debut in 2008 was named Francophone Album of the Year and eventually rose to Top Five success in France with her smash hit single "Comme des Enfants." Coeur de Pirate is now set to release her highly-anticipated sophomore effort, Blonde, co-produced by Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Basia Bulat, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, The Dears) and Béatrice Martin herself. The first single, "Adieu" is a sophisticated pop mini-masterpiece. Featuring a bouncing melody of keyboards, guitar and handclaps, "Adieu" juxtaposes a hint of menace with Martin’s pixie-dusted vocals. Leif Vollebekk will open. Show is 18+.
