Musica Dolce (Bach, Telemann, Couperin)
The Sugarbeats Ensemble is a new Toronto-based group in which members of the Canadian Opera Company Orchestra and musicians from the Aradia Ensemble unite to perform Baroque chamber music on period instruments. This concert will include works by Bach and Telemann, as well as Couperin's masterful early programmatic work, The Apotheosis of Lully, featuring violinists Liz Johnston and Paul Zevenhuizen; Laura Jones bass viola da gamba, and harpsichordist Paul Jenkins. Music sweet as pie.
