Chamber Music Northwest's newly launched "Protégé Project" brings some of the fastest-rising artists on the international chamber music scene to Portland this June and July, complementing its signature renowned summer festival with a cutting-edge Sunday series for folks who prefer their chamber music both neighborhood-casual and first-rate. The third installment of the Protégé series presents Sospiro Winds, whose members regularly rub elbows with top avant-garde ensembles like East Coast Chamber Orchestra (ECCO) and International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE). Decidedly the most progressive ensemble of CMNW's 2010 Protégés, Sospiro presents an ambitious array of demanding 20th century repertoire by Pavel Haas, Samuel Barber, Elliott Carter, György Kurtág and Paquito D'Rivera.
