Chamber Music Northwest's newly launched "Protégé Project" brings some of the fastest-rising artists on the international chamber music scene to Portland this June and July, complementing its signature renowned summer festival with a cutting-edge Sunday series for folks who prefer their chamber music both neighborhood-casual and first-rate. This week meet Atria Ensemble, a prize winning violin (or viola)-clarinet-piano trio on a mission to uncover, expose and perform works for this less-than-common instrumentation. The trio pulls out the fireworks with an all-American program of 20th and 21st century composers, including Libby Larsen, Paul Schoenfield, Charles Ives and William Bolcom.
