Chamber Music Northwest celebrates the 4th of July at Reed College with a special program of “Music of the Americas,” from Villa-Lobos's haunting Bachianas Brasilieras No. 5 for soprano and 8 cellos, to tangos by Piazzolla, to Barber and Gershwin and more. An all-star roster of 16 festival artists performs, including violinists Ani and Ida Kavafian, flutist Tara Helen O’Connor, and cellist Matt Haimovitz.
The family-friendly concert will be in Kaul Auditorium from 7:30-8:45, without intermission, so you can catch fireworks afterward. Come early for a festive holiday picnic buffet outside on the lawn, with hamburgers, potato salad and short cake.
Tickets are just $20 for adults, and kids and students 7-18 get in free! Call 503-294-6400 to order in advance, or come to the door. You may also purchase tickets at our website.
