Not only did Drowned in Sound name Hook and The Twin's first-ever release 'single of the week', but the editor said he'd listen to it again 17 more times on repeat. It was that bloody good, Son. A repeat namecheck on many taste makers new years tip list, the London duo are pretty much a sure thing for greatness this year. Think hypnotic vocals, disco synths n drum beats with indie songwriting and a kraut heart and you'd be all over it. YUM!

A snotty, horny, blend of garage rock, surf music and noise punk, these dudes are kind of like Coachwhips for swingers. ALRIGHT! Like all the best bands evz, Sex Beet started as a joke when Tom & Luke from The Lusts, and their mate Will (the drummer from Jack & The Knives) started making recordings to ease boredoom while hanging out. Bigged up by The NME, Moshi Moshi and everyone who has managed to catch them live, Chapter24 are a band you are going to be hearing a lot more from in the coming months. Claire, Mel, Mark and Joe named themselves after a Syd Barrett song on Pink Floyd's 'The Piper at the Gates of Dawn' and are as mentalist on stage as the man himself. OMGZ, Good!

Lady Lauren of Flax is a shit hawt international DJ, songwriter, producer and tattooed female. Lauren cut her teeth on the Detroit rave scene and has since played with other big DJs such as Carl Craig, DJ AM and Disco D, opened for Moby and Yelle and is currently the Fischerspooner tour DJ. DJs Are Not Rockstars, the indie dance label run by dream team Alexander Technique and Larry Tee have released her debut single "You've Changed" which features vocals by the ace Australian solo artist, Sia (of Zero7 fame). Buses 149, 243 and 76 operate all night… Buses 242, 30, 38, 56 all go to Dalston Junction which is a five minute walk up to Bardens. Buses 38 and 242 operate all night night long baby.

We ran our monthly, club motherfucker live band night for 6 years, It was hella fun and a good time was had by all.
We deaded the regular do in March of this year due to um, life and that but are back on the block for a limited run of Mofofests. These were to be travelling mini festivals showcasing our pick of the bestest in new music but after a bit of searching, our commitment to independant operations and long time keenness to stick it to the man, mean we will be doing all of them at our ex-home of 3 years. Yay! Bardens Boudoir is the motherfucking Daddy of the Dalston scene and probably the best family-run, furniture shop basement cum nightclub/Live Music Venue in the whole of the wide world, probably the universe, innit. Good bless it everyone, and all who sail in it!
