Clothesline Festival September 9, 2005

In 1957, 101 exhibitors and 2,000 bargain hunters braved the wind and rain of Hurricane Audrey at the Memorial Art Gallery?s first Clothesline Festival. From these inauspicious beginnings, Clothesline has grown into a major community happening, spilling over the Gallery?s 17-acre campus and showcasing artists from a 27-county region of upstate New York.
