Join the Cleveland Chinese Music Ensemble for an enjoyable and informative afternoon performance of Chinese music, conjuring images of China's rich, colorful, and ancient heritage.
The varied program, comprising melodious "silk and bamboo" music as well as more festive pieces for winds and percussion, will be performed on an array of traditional wind, string, and percussion instruments, including bamboo flutes, oboes, mouth organs, fiddles, lutes, gongs, and drums.
For a special treat, audience members will be invited to play Chinese percussion instruments and join the ensemble for an interactive finale. This will be the ensemble's first concert in Twinsburg, where it is based and rehearses.
This event, which is is free and open to the public, is part of the Twinsburg Public Library's second annual summer Music in the Garden series. It will take place outdoors in the library's Reading Garden, weather permitting.
