Civic Orchestra of Chicago: Bernard Haitink, Conductor April 26, 2009

Join the Civic Orchestra as Bernard Haitink leads a performance of Strauss' Don Juan. Based upon poetry by Nikolaus Lenau, this tone poem presents the Don Juan figure musically with his exceeding passion and desire as well as his trials and troubles. Young British conductor, Leo McFall, will conduct Dvorak's cheerful Eighth Symphony, which was inspired by his native Bohemian folk music.
