City of Fairfax Band: American Treasures February 20, 2010

The City of Fairfax Band showcases the rich textures and colors of great American music in "American Treasures", a concert of gems from the twentieth century. The program includes entertaining works by Gould, Persichetti, Hanson, Sousa, Rodgers and Gershwin and features music from the well-loved Broadway classics "South Pacific" and "Porgy and Bess".

Recognized locally and nationally for their rich timbres, vibrant rhythms and exceptional interpretation of standard concert and show classics, the City of Fairfax Band celebrates its 40th anniversary this year with a season of family friendly concerts and events.
