City Harvest will hold its 8th annual On Your Plate luncheon on May 16, 2012, at the Metropolitan Club in Manhattan. An elegant luncheon will begin at 12:00 noon, followed by a conversation with guest speaker Susan Fales-Hill, acclaimed author, television writer, and producer.
Susan Fales-Hill has worked for a number of television series, including “The Cosby Show” and “Suddenly Susan,” and has written magazine articles that have appeared in Vogue, Glamour, Town & Country, and Good Housekeeping. A graduate of Harvard, Susan has published two books, the critically acclaimed memoir Always Wear Joy and the novel One Flight Up. Her third book, Imperfect Bliss, hits bookstores on July 3rd. She currently lives in New York with her husband and their daughter.
The event will be co-chaired by Jennifer Carlston, Joy Ingham, Jan Fletcher Slifka, Topsy Taylor, and Meghan Carleton Young. Society columnist and longtime City Harvest supporter David Patrick Columbia is honorary chair.
Tickets to this year’s On Your Plate luncheon range from $375 to $1,000, and tables range from $5,000 to $15,000. Last year’s event attracted over 200 guests and raised over $240,000 -- enough to help feed over 148,000 hungry New Yorkers for a week.
