City Harvest will hold its seventh annual “On Your Plate” luncheon on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at the Metropolitan Club in Manhattan (1 E 60th Street at Fifth Avenue). A reception will take place at 11:30 a.m., and the luncheon and discussion with Jill Kargman, bestselling author of Sometimes I Feel Like a Nut, will begin at noon.
Jill Kargman is a highly acclaimed New York City-based writer whose most recent work, Sometimes I Feel Like a Nut, tackles a variety of issues with sharp wit and laugh-out-loud humor through a collection of essays and observations. In addition to authoring several novels, Ms. Kargman’s work has appeared in many popular magazines, including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Town & Country, Travel + Leisure, and Elle.
The event will be co-chaired by Joy Ingham and Topsy Taylor. Society columnist and longtime City Harvest supporter David Patrick Columbia is honorary chair.
Tickets to this year’s “On Your Plate” luncheon range from $375 - $1,000 and tables range from $5,000 - $15,000. Last year’s event attracted over 200 guests and raised nearly $200,000 to support City Harvest’s work feeding New York’s hungry.
