Cirque du Soleil: Alegría August 26, 2009

Cirque du Soleil is pleased to announce that tickets are now on sale for the new Alegría Arena Tour, which will stop in Boston this Summer. Alegría will perform 8 shows at the Agganis Arena from August 26 to 30, 2009.Performance times are Wednesday, August 26 and Thursday, August 27 at 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 28 and Saturday, August 29 at 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 30 at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Prices for adults are from $45 to $95 and Children (12 and under)are from $36 to $76.

Alegría is a Spanish word that means happiness, joy and jubilation. An operatic introspection of the struggle for power and the invigorating energy of youth, Alegría relates the tale of power versus weakness, the king versus his jesters, and age against youth. It is a Cirque du Soleil classic and an internationally acclaimed production that has entertained more than 10 million people worlwide since its world premiere in Montreal in April 1994.
