Moving effortlessly from straight-ahead jazz to rock to funk, Cindy Blackman is one of the hottest drummers in the business. She began her musical career as a New York street performer before spending three semesters at Berklee College of Music in Boston. She has also studied with legendary teacher Alan Dawson, and has spent the past 11 years as the drummer for Lenny Kravitz.
