The Chinese Institute of Engineers (CIE) Dallas Fort Worth Area Chapter is pleased to present our first Youth Engineering Fair. This event is a key program in our portfolio of CIE Youth Program intended to encourage our youths to explore without fear, to experiment with glee, and to feel and see fun in science and mathematics. CIE intends to hold the Youth Science and Engineering Fair annually.
The 2010 Youth Engineering Fair will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Galaxy Rooms, in the Student Union Building at The University of Texas at Dallas from 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM.
A competition of Projects that opens to students in grades eight (8) to twelve (12), will test creativity and resourcefulness, and engage contestants in the learning of physics and math involved in the projects. Five (5) projects are available for contestants to select.
For students preferring not to prepare and build their projects ahead of time, they can participate in Engineering Fun at the fair. Kits will be provided to contestants and they build away to the specifications of the projects and add on their own creativity into them. Engineering Fun is open to students in grades one (1) to seven (7)
Students in DFW should take advantage of this challenge and participate in CIE Engineering Fair. For winners the award is a springboard to launch a great next step in contributing to tomorrow’s professional world. For the rest of the contestants you would have showed real passion for the fun of science and gained another wonderland experience.
Registration is now open on CIE website until May 15, 2010. For more information on the Youth Engineering Fair, the registration process, project description, competition rules, eligibility, location maps and other instructions please visit the CIE website at www.cie-dfw.org.
