The Presbyterian Women’s Association is hosting a Churchwide garage sale on May 30th from 9am to 2 pm. There will be something for everyone. We plan on having furniture, household products, books, toys, a little bit of everything with the exceptions of clothing.
Proceeds and donations will help with different PWA programs and community charities. The Marshall PWA provides for several different community service programs such as the “Baby Shower in a Bag” program which provides much needed infant supplies to new mothers. According to Lisa DeGraw, PWA moderator, “we work closely with Oaklawn Hospital to help provide items to new parents. While we can not provide everything a infant needs we try to provide the parents with enough that they do not need to worry about anything but their child for the first month or so.”
“Prayer Quilts” are made by the Sip and Stitch group. People in the need of spiritual, emotional or physical healing are given a quilt made with love and tied with prayers.
The PWA also makes monetary donations to several other community services.
