The Virgin Mobile Festival is a rock festival, started in 2006, that tours Canada and the United States, showcasing various established and break-out artists.
Chromeo, an electrofunk due from Montreal, is made up of Dave 1 and P-Thugg, who have been best friends since childhood.
Highlights of their 2004 debut album She's in Control include the club tracks "Needy Girl", "Mercury Tears", "Rage!", and "Destination: Overdrive". In 2005, Chromeo released a mix cd of funky dance tracks entitled Un Joli Mix Pour Toi (A Pretty Mix For You). During early 2007 Chromeo supported indie rock group Bloc Party on their British tour. They also released the single "Fancy Footwork" as well as their second album of the same name.
Their song "Needy Girl" is used nationally for Reese's Cup advertisements and their song "You're So Gangsta" is used in the video game Space Colony. Their 2007 single Fancy Footwork won CBC Radio 3's Bucky Award for "Best Sweatin' to the Indies Song", and was also featured as a remixed version in the video game Need For Speed. "Rage!" was used in a McDonald's commercial.
