The 13th century work by the blessed Jacobus de Voragine's 'Golden Legend of the Saints,' second only to the Bible in readership during its heyday, serves as inspiration for Christopher's new work. 'The Golden Legend' features portraits of 17 male saints performed by a highly acclaimed cast of New York City dancers, choreographers, puppeteers, and musicians. Music, performed live by members of the renowned ensembles Lionheart, Anonymous 4, and the New York Consort of Viols, runs the gamut of extant medieval compositions from as early as the 12th century to original contemporary compositions by Peter Kirn and Gregory Spears. Puppets are created by Eric Wright, Lake Simons, and Christopher.
