Stage Door Inc. is please to announce the final production of the 2009 Live, Laugh, and Love season. The show that has been chosen to end our wonderful season at the theatre is " The Christmas Express " by local Houston Playwright Pat Cook . The Christmas Express will run weekends November 27th December 20th . Christmas time is a lonely time at the train station in the small town of Holly. "This is the most hopeless place in the world!" Hilda (Alane Johnson) intones as she and Satch (Bryan Sanchez), her assistant, argue over what time it is. She dreams of faraway places and only finds boredom in running the Holly Railway Station. That is, until Leo Tannenbaum (Andrew Thiess) drops in out of nowhere the day before Christmas Eve. Suddenly, an old radio that hasn't worked in years springs to life, the local group of carolers, which consists of Maggie (Sheryl Rade), the local mail lady who has a strong passion for her career, Penelope (Liz Taylor), the editor for the local paper the Holly Herald who is always looking for front page news, and Myrna (L.Louise Jackson) the city secretary and local vocal coach. This group's singing usually sounds like a gang of wet cats, and they begin to sound like the Mormon Tabernacle Choir at the same time the whole town starts to get the Christmas spirit. Coincidence? Or is Leo doing all this? Could Leo be magical? Even Satch changes his tune when it turns out that Leo might be on the run. Throw in the feuding of a newlywed couple, Donna(Vanessa Pearson) and Jerry Cummings (Jorge Cisneros) and a shady character known as Mr. Fairfax (Justin Nicholson) and a young girl name Deborah (Sydney Graham) then you get this nostalgic theatrical greeting card is full of all of these eccentric small town characters, wise-cracking their way to finding the true wonder of Christmas. And on the way they make us all wish we could take a ride on " The Christmas Express " . Directed by: Marc Anthony Glover; Assitant Director: Dario Failla; Stage Manager: My Tang; Assistant Stage Manager: Consuelo Suarez . Ticket prices for this show range from $15 general admission, $12 seniors(60+), and $10 students (with current id). Show times are Friday and Saturday performances at 8pm with Sunday Matinees at 3pm.
