California’s oldest Armenian Congregation will mark the end of the 2010 Advent Season with its 113th Christmas Eve Candlelight Service.

The First Armenian Presbyterian Church of Fresno will mark the Nativity at 10 p.m. on Friday, December 24. The service will take place in the Church Sanctuary, 430 South First Street, just one block west of the Historic Huntington Boulevard Candlelight Christmas. Advent is the season beginning four Sundays before Christmas and commemorating the coming of Christ into the world.

Reverend Mgrdich Melkonian is Senior Pastor of the Fresno congregation and Reverend Eric E. Thompson is the Interim Associate Pastor. The 2010 theme of the congregation is “A New Creation.”
