Tuesday, February 26, Dr. Beckwith will deliver an address entitled “Personhood and the Debate over Abortion” addressing some arguments from his new book, Defending Life (Cambridge University Press, 2007). In it, he critiques the works of Peter Singer, David Boonin, and Dean Stretton, all of whom argue that the unborn is a human being but not a person (and thus is not a “rights bearing” entity). The lecture will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the dining room of the Johnson Center, is free, and open to the public.
