The Lesbian & Gay Chorus of Washington, DC (LGCW) is holding an Open House for new singers at St Monica's and St. James Episcopal Church, 222 8th St. NE, Washington, DC 20002, 6:30-8:30 pm. The LGCW is celebrating 25 years of singing boldly in the Washington, DC metropolitan community with a commission of Robert Convery, a cantata called 'Under the Greenwood Tree', setting poetry of Langston Hughes, Amy Lowell, Walt Whitman, Christina Rossetti, Robert Louis Stevenson, Elinot Wylie, and William Shakespeare. The world premiere wlll be January 24-25, 2009.
