With its beginnings in 1898, CHIO Aachen has long ranked as one of the most important (and prestigious) international equestrian events - offering world class competition in dressage, jumping, and driving.

In 2007, the program was expanded to include the additional discplines of eventing and vaulting.

In 2002, a new record of attendance was achieved with approx. 305,000 spectators over a period of five days. In 2006 Aachen played host to the FEI World Equestrian Games.
