The 2011 Chinese Week at Eastern Michigan University offers an opportunity for the EMU community to participate in educational and cultural Chinese experiences through a variety of exhibits and activities. This campus-wide celebration of the rich Chinese culture takes place from Sunday, January 30, 2011 through Saturday, February 5, 2011 at various campus locations.
All participants will gain significant appreciation of the Chinese culture through the week-long activities. The week will start with the Chinese Spring Festival Gala, which is the most important Chinese festival that is celebrated by all Chinese in all corners of the globe. Other presentations include the student calligraphy exhibit at the Halle Library, speeches on Chinese people and customs, Chinese games and brush painting, and the Chinese film The Women, The Gun, and The Noodle Shop, to name a few.
